Standing as strong as 1 Billion
India once stood among the countries with the highest Covid positivity rate. However, the rise in the number of cases did not bring down the zeal of our covid warriors (all the healthcare workers, scientists, municipality workers, etc.) from working hard in various situations like timely collection of samples, issuing of reports, handling patients with care, providing them with medications, production of vaccines and making it available to its citizens.
Over 20 lakh workers at 4.3 lakh vaccination centres helped achieve the feat over a period of nine months. According to Government sources, vaccine doses were administered at 4,30,000 vaccination sites over a period of nine months. Around 4-5 individuals were involved in each vaccination Centre. Going by that data, roughly over 20,00,000 workers were involved during this crucial period.
“The entire vaccination program of India has been Science-born, Science-driven and Science-based. Today not only are record investments coming in Indian companies but new employment opportunities are also being created for the youth. With record investment in start-ups, unicorns are emerging,” said PM Modi while addressing the nation.
“100 crore vaccinations are not just a figure, but a reflection of the strength of the country. A success of India and the success of every countryman,” added PM Modi.
Various leaders from various parts of the world congratulated PM Modi for achieving this milestone. With the completion of 1 billion vaccine doses, India stands as an inspiration to many!
