He understood the need of the hour and in the year 2018 he started “ERLYSIGN” which is now trusted by the well renowned Oncologists and Biotech experts from India and abroad. 

This Biotechnology start-up aim at developing the next generation of early stage diagnostics solutions & medical devices for early stage detection of multiple cancers in a non-invasive and painless manner through saliva.

The firm is targeting the non-invasive cancer diagnostics global market which was valued at $107.4 billion in 2016. This market is estimated to grow from nearly $114.6 billion in 2017 to $159.8 billion by 2022 with a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 6.9% for the period of 2017-2022.

Oral cancer is among the top three types of Cancer among men & women in South East Asia and India is considered as the Oral Cancer capital of the world. According to the Global Adult Tobacco Survey 2019, the age of initiation of tobacco habits in India is 17 years and almost one million people die of oral cancer in India every year due to late stage detection.

ERLYSIGN’s first test kit is an easy to use and quicker way to test for Oral cancer through saliva sample and can detect cancer even before a visible tumor or lesion appears in the oral cavity, lip, tongue, larynx and pharynx.

ERLYSIGN has been recognized by Global Health and Pharma Biotechnology Awards 2021 as the Best Early Cancer detection Start-up in Asia. They have also been recognized by Best Start-up Asia as “Top Medical Device Company in India 2021”.

Mr Shubhendra is a Bachelor’s in Biology and has done his specialisation in Clinical Trials from Johns Hopkins University. Before starting ERLYSIGN, he has worked on many revolutionary solutions which include innovative products like “JOLT”, a safety wearable for women to deter miscreants and another wearable called “Frosty”, a personal cooling device.

In the year 2017 launched “Tellon” which was a campus networking application intended to connect every college, school, educational institution through a deep network.

The app got recognised by Facebook in its FbStart program as the world’s youngest app-based start-up from India.

He has been felicitated by VIA & Lemon School of Entrepreneurship in the year 2018 and was nominated for the 2019 Rex Karmaveer Chakra Award & Karmaveer Global Fellowship instituted by ICONGO and the United Nations. He has also been nominated for Nagpur Heroes Award.

Not only this, he has also served in Red light area Nagpur for raising awareness among sex workers on Oral cancer and chronic kidney disease. He has also developed a home based urine test kit for detecting Kidney disease. On the personal front he has keen interest in sports. He is a three time regional level athlete in long running events and one time silver medal winner during his college days.
