Rakesh Kumar is from a humble and rural background of southern part of Haryana, district Rewari, He is first student from his village who studied Science. He completed his schooling from Kosli; this was the nearest school with Science faculty at a distance of 10 Km from his village at that time. His grandfather was his guide and taught him – “Give your best every time and never stop learning’’. This always inspires him. Rakesh considers his mother as first teacher. He did his Engineering graduation from Birla Institute of Technology, Pilani and started his career as a Quality Assurance Engineer.
He completed his MS from BITS Pilani and also did his Lean Six Sigma Black Belt from American Society of Quality. Rakesh has excelled in optimizing production processes, resource utilization, and capacity enhancement. His expertise lies in crafting and implementing strategies that elevate productivity, quality, and profitability while efficiently resolving operations challenges, building winning team.
In his more than 22 years of work experience, he worked with large organizations e.g. Mark Exhaust Systems, Rieter Automotive, Ashahi Glass auto division etc as a Head Quality Assurance.
Rakesh is passionate about excellence and keen practitioner of Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and TPM.He is master at managing plant operations and project budgets, skillfully navigating contract negotiations and P&L responsibilities. In his current assignment he built-up a winning team. He always led by examples and focus on servant leadership. He successfully managed to turnaround serious business problems.
Business Transformation is also one of his passions, Rakesh as a leader is known as champion of achieving business results with a blend of customer focus, business acumen, cost-saving and business excellence initiatives. He leads every assignment with passion, employing Operational Excellence tools to ensure these are delivered on time, within budget and at defined quality standards. Leading team is one of his natural strength and he built-up many winning teams in his stint.
Rakesh is expert in setting up and running large size manufacturing units efficiently. He is always full of energy and focuses on learning new things.Rakesh’s forward-thinking approach is underpinned by leadership, strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills. He always enjoys challenging assignments.
He joined as head Quality Assurance in current organization and worked for more than 10 years as business unit head and improved business bottom line by productivity improvement, reduced wastages from entire supply chain, focused on value-addition. All these learning experiences and skills helped him to move in his career. Currently he is working as Vice President Operations in Sigma Electric Manufacturing Corporation Pvt Ltd.-Jaipur As an operation leader he is managing 5 plants and driving excellence to make organization profitable with the help of his Sigma Electric leadership team.
He is thankful to everyone for their contribution in personal and profession life, specially his wife, Sunita, without her , it couldn’t have happened as she stood always with him during his bad or good times.
