Empowering the Next Generation of Engineers: Mr. Dhanesh Bhardwaj shares his journey of success
Mr. Dhanesh Bhardwaj is an engineering professional with 43 years of experience in project management, specializing in hospitality greenfield and high-end commercial projects. His career began in 1981 as a trainee engineer with Shapoorji Pallonji on the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research project in Mumbai, after completing a diploma in civil engineering. While working, he furthered his education by earning a BE in civil engineering and an MBA in project management.
His early involvement in a hospitality greenfield project significantly boosted his career. He believes in teamwork, knowledge sharing, and valuing all team members to enhance project quality and timely delivery. Throughout his career, he has successfully led and completed major projects for renowned brands such as Taj, Marriott, Sarovar, Hyatt, Intercontinental, and Mahindra Holidays, overseeing them from the planning stage to handover with full client satisfaction.
A notable achievement in his career was pioneering the ‘Top-Down Construction’ technology in India in 2001 for the Intercontinental Marine Drive project in Mumbai. This innovative approach involved completing the superstructure first, then constructing the basement adjacent to the sea, and delivering the project on schedule.
Now, as a freelance consultant, he enjoys supporting and training beginners, helping them develop their skills and adopt the latest technologies. He remains optimistic in all circumstances, aiming to contribute to a more robust and self-reliant India.
