Named after the Founder Chairman, Dr KCG Verghese, the college strives to translate into reality his vision of making everyman a success and no man a failure. In 1998, when the college was founded, it offered only four UG programmes but today it has expanded itself by offering a total of 13 UG, 4 PG and 5 PhD Programmes.

KCG College of Technology has to its credit a long list of awards, certificates of recognitions and accreditations. It is accredited by National Assessment and Accreditation Council (NAAC) with A+ Grade securing a CGPA of 3.4 out of 4. Four of its BE/ BTech Programmes- Mechanical Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering and Information Technology  are re-accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA). The Institute was ranked in the band of 200 to 250 by National Institute Ranking Framework (NIRF)

The college believes in the concept of holistic education and adopts strategies that help learners to keep up with the changing times. With an aim to uncover the content beyond curriculum, the college invites experts from academia and industry across borders.

KCG Clubs, Cells, Special Interest Groups (SIGs), Centres of Excellence (COE), Office of Students Affairs, Office of International Affairs, Higher Education Cell, Civil Service Aspirants Club, Toastmasters Club, Technology Business Incubator etc. make KCG stand tall and distinct.

Students of KCG are oriented towards placement and training right from first year of their study which help them to demonstrate their skills and knowledge during campus interviews. Both Core and IT product based, service based companies visit the campus for recruitment providing job opportunities for all eligible students.
