At CHARUSAT, Dr. Patel has been rendering his services as the Controller of Examinations. He has also provided several ICT services in the Development of Website and Web Application and Mobile Application to various departments and institutions of the University as and when required. Importantly, he serves as the Coordinator of E-Governance developed in house for paperless office integrating smooth functioning of different digital services of the University. He is an active member of different bodies of the University like Board of Management, Academic Council, Research Council, Faculty Board of FCA, Advisory Board of CMPICA and Board of Studies of Computer Science and Applications.

At personal level, Dr. Patel has contributed in designing and developing innovative approaches to the learning experience for postgraduates with the intention of challenging thinking, fostering debate, and encouraging the development of intellectual reasoning. He enquires into the new areas of research involving national and international collaborations with members of other higher education institutions and / or organizations; research grants and consultancy projects from various agencies like MODROB – RURAL funded by AICTE and KSV, Gandhinagar.

Dr Atul Patel has got published and presented more than 100 papers in various International and National conferences and journals. He is an active Member on the Editorial Board of International Journal of Research and Reviews in Information Security and Privacy (IJRRISP), Science Academy Publisher, FUTURE TECH; An International Journal of Science and Technology (FIJST), Ethics Publication, New Delhi, India; and International Journal of Research Culture Society (IJRCS), Vadodara, India.

Dr. Atul Patel has very actively attended and delivered Expert Lectures in more than 30 workshops, conferences and seminars. He has also Delivered lectures at Orientation Programmes and Refresher Courses conducted by UGC Academic Staff Colleges in Gujarat. He has organized GUJCOST sponsored Workshops and International Conferences on the emerging topics like Machine Learning in Image Processing, Internet of Things: Tools and Technologies, AI and Deep Learning, Mobile Application Development using Cross Platform Application Development Frameworks, Research Methodology and Quantitative Techniques, to name a few.

For his significant contribution and active participation in various development activities, Dr. Patel has also received numerous honours and awards like Man of Excellence Award, Indian Achievers’ Forum, Delhi, Best Researcher in Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning, IDMBA, Hyderabad, Education Leadership Award, World Education Congress, Mumbai, Rashtriya Vidya Gaurav Gold Medal Award, IIEM (ISC), New Delhi and Bharat Vidya Shiromani Award, Indian Solidarity Council, New Delhi.
