COO is the second senior executive after the CEO. His/her primary responsibilities include supervise and administer the organization’s daily business operations, leading key initiatives, and implementing company-wide strategies. Just like the judiciary and legislature formulate policies and the executive branch implements them, the same way, CEO constructs a longer-term business strategies and the Chief Operations Officer executes them. Decision making, Management skills, clear communication skills and above all, a COO must be a great leader since he/she heads all the business operations and initiatives that are related to the organization.
