He is a seasoned finance professional and an impact investor with over 15 years of global and diverse work experience. With globally accepted education qualification with ACA, ACS, CPA (USA) and Certification in Entrepreneurship in Emerging Markets from HarwardX. He has rich experience in financial services, advisory in India, USA, Singapore, Hong Kong and Sub-Saharan African countries. Proven track record in leading finance, impact investment and advisory areas in distributed off-grid solar sector and has been successfully co-leading solar fund at SIMA and is also building a large solar infra project financing fund.
Amitesh has served finance leadership roles at globally recognized organizations such as General Electric (GE-Energy) in Bangalore and Charlottesville (USA) leading their Finance Controllership and Supply Chain Finance. Leading various audits and advisory for IT clients at KPMG and at LinkedIn – India led the finance function and served as the business partner to the India CEO.
In 2020 Amitesh took a plunge in impact investment with one of the world’s leading impact investor in the off-grid solar space – Social Investment Managers and Advisors (SIMA Funds). At SIMA Amitesh serves as a Partner and is part of the senior management of the firm, co-leads decision making and strategy with Managing Partners.
He leads investments in solar distributed enterprises in Sub-Saharan Africa and South Asia via SIMA’s USD 90 Million Off-grid Solar Fund. Amitesh is a well known financial advisor to various small and mid-scale solar off-grid companies in Central and East Africa.
He has a strong bias on having a social heart and a business brain for all impact investor and advisor. He is well known for building strong relationships and has experience in managing relationships with large Development Financial institutions such has US International Development Financial Corporation, Shell Foundation, European Investment Bank, Rockefeller Foundation to name a few.
With a mission to deploy more than USD 50million in solar projects in 2021 which will support 100MW of energy projects across South Asia and Sub-Saharan Africa.
He has a mission to support small and mid-scale business and developing scalable initiatives for providing clean and affordable energy solution. He also has a passion to teach and over the past 4 years have taken various lectures on finance, branding and leadership development at IIM-K, NMIMS, IIFT, MDI and IIM-Jammu.
